Yew Kee is Senior Vice President at CPG Consultants Pte Ltd in Singapore. Yew Kee is a registered architect both in Singapore and in Texas. He is a council member of Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) and an affiliate member of the Singapore Institute of Planners. Yew Kee is a Sustainable Design Architect dedicated to integrate technology and art into sustainable design solutions. In 26 years of practice, Yew Kee honed his expertise in a broad and deep range of sustainable projects and integrated designs in over 8 countries.
Yew Kee received his Master of Science in Sustainable Design (Merit) from University of Nottingham in UK in 2013, and his Master of Architecture from University of Texas in Austin in 1991. He studied under AIA Gold Medalist, late Prof Charles W. Moore FAIA. In recognition of his scholastic achievements and teaching assistantship, Yew Kee received the AIA Certificate of Merit, Robert Leon White Memorial Award, and Texas Teaching Excellence Award. Yew Kee interned with Ricardo Legoretta in Mexico prior to joining Overland Partners in 1993, where he began his sustainability journey as a team member working on the 2000 AIA/COTE Top 10 project, LBJ National Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas. Upon his return to Singapore, Yew Kee worked in two leading firms and later founded 2B Architects, a bespoke award-winning firm.
Yew Kee is active in professional and community works, serves on institute’s council, sits on advisory committee of statutory boards, juries in competitions, lectures in public forum and docents in local museums. Yew Kee’s achievements include recipient of Singapore Ministry of National Development Medallion for Distinguished Service, co-chaired a joint Building & Construction Authority-SIA taskforce to develop Green Mark 2015 (LEED equivalent), established SIA G-Architect Award to honor an Asian architect, and spearheaded the crafting of SIA’s policy document, “11 Attributes for a Sustainable Built Environment”. He also mentored a group of final year students in the Capstone Program, Singapore University of Technology and Design from 2014-2015.
