Mark Liu joined JERDE in 2013 as Senior Vice President and Director of Project Management, bringing with him over 37 years of international design and build experience. In this role, he implemented key initiatives that significantly enhanced the efficiency and quality of the firm’s services.
In September 2015, Liu relocated to China to take on a new role as Managing Director of JERDE’s China office. He has since made numerous critical contributions to the company, including building a strong team and expanding the client base in China, which has become the firm’s most successful market. He became a full partner in 2018 and was subsequently elected to JERDE’s Global Board of Directors.
In 2024, he was elected President of the AIA Shanghai. He is also an active member of international organizations such as TEA, CTBUH, IAAPA, Façade Tectonic and AmCham, and serves as a juror for the IDA Design Awards and the Shanghai Government’s Huangpu District Revitalization of the Bund Neighborhood.
