ITALY - Section Event - Florence
Florence Institute of Design international & Villa Santo Stefano alle Corti

The Section's recent conference brought members together in Italy for visits to the Florence Institute of Design International and Villa Santo Stefano alle Corti, showcasing adaptive reuse and architectural heritage through the personal restoration project of AIA Continental Europe members Royce and Steve.
Reflecting on the broader value of AIA Continental Europe's conferences, AIA President Illya Azaroff shared his experience from the Section's recent Berlin conference, describing it as an opportunity to engage with dedicated design professionals, exchange ideas with fellow speakers, and strengthen international partnerships that advance the profession. He also highlighted visits to Potsdam, the Einstein Tower, and other significant architectural landmarks, underscoring the unique blend of professional dialogue and cultural exploration that defines AIA Continental Europe events.

French Section Event
Herzog & De Meuron Tour Triange, Paris
Date: Tuesday, June 2
In June, members of AIA Continental Europe's French Section were invited for an exclusive construction site tour of the Tour Triangle in Paris, hosted by local architects Valode & Pistre. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, the 180-metre tower is expected to be one of the last high-rise buildings constructed in Paris under the city's new zoning regulations.
Scheduled for completion in 2027, the mixed-use development will include a Radisson hotel, office space, retail, childcare facilities, a panoramic rooftop, and extensive public amenities. The project also integrates ambitious sustainability strategies, including generous green spaces, a high-performance double façade, and environmental systems designed to reduce energy consumption by approximately 40% compared to current code requirements.
The French Section looks forward to welcoming members to its next Paris site visit, which will explore the renovation of Tour Mirabeau later this year.
Following a successful spring gathering, AIA Continental Europe is already looking ahead to its upcoming conferences, continuing to connect architects through design, culture, and professional exchange across Europe.

SPRING 2027 - Rotterdam & Delft - Contrasting Spaces of Dutch Innovation

Looking further ahead, the Spring 2027 Conference will take place in Rotterdam and Delft, the Netherlands (22–25 April 2027) under the theme Contrasting Spaces of Dutch Innovation, offering participants the opportunity to explore two cities renowned for their contributions to architecture, urbanism, and design.
