AIA Canada: The role of renovations and refurbishments in meeting the 2030 Challenge

Session 1 - AIA Canada Nov 20 1130-1230 Meeting the 2030 challenge.jpg

Description:

The mission of the AIA 2030 Commitment is to support the 2030 Challenge and transform the practice of architecture in a way that is holistic, firm-wide, project based, and data-driven. The Canada Green Building Council has recommended that all provinces will need to prioritize recommissioning for large buildings (between 2500 and 20,000 m2) and deep retrofits for older buildings (over 35 years old) in order to meet the target. In this session, it will be discussed how the objectives of the 2030 Commitment can begin to be met as they are applied to our existing building stock.
