Speaker: James Scott Brew, Nikken Sekkei

Description:

Global green building rating systems are increasingly including new requirements connected to occupant health, wellness and productivity. In order to meet these evolving green building standards, we need to better understand the evidence-based health and wellness interventions that can directly impact worker productivity and well-being. The results of recent medical research that explores this connection between buildings and the health and wellness of its occupants will support the business case for healthier green designs, beyond energy savings alone. Several studies documenting human productivity gains and improved cognitive function will be referenced as evidence to support this topic. Case studies of built projects will highlight specific health and wellness strategies implemented.
