Kelly Alvarez Doran, Senior Principal, MASS Design Group.


Kelly Alvarez Doran is a Senior Principal at MASS Design Group.  He joined MASS in 2014 to lead the firm's Kigali office, overseeing the growth of the practice from an office of 8 to 80 over a five year period.  Kelly has led the design and implementation of several of MASS’s projects across East Africa, notably the award-winning Munini District Hospital and Rwanda Ministry of Health’s Typical Hospital Plans; headquarters for both One Acre Fund and Andela in Kenya; and the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture. Kelly is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, the University of Toronto, a recipient of the Canada Council’s Prix de Rome for Emerging Practitioners, and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto and has held teaching positions at The Bartlett, Harvard University, and the University of Waterloo.

Dora Ng, OAA, AIA - Director of Continuing Education, AIA Canada Society.

Dora is a licensed architect in the state of California and in Ontario province.  She has over 20 years of professional experience and has worked in Chicago, San Francisco bay area, Shanghai and Toronto. With experience in both client and consultant firms, she understands the design process as well as various aspects of project delivery.  She is a Project Manager at CannonDesign Toronto office and has delivered projects of various building types including healthcare, senior living, commercial mixed use and residential. Dora completed her Master in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She also holds a Master in Civil Engineering in construction management.
