The WIA lectures showcase the divergent practice of Two cities, Two women architects. This session features Shirley Ting (Taipei) and Christine Lam (Hong Kong).

The 21st century has brought sharp changes to the urban landscape. The eradication of definite boundaries in the social, economic and environmental composition created tremendous pressures for the local life and habitat. Asian cities, particularly, have found the abrupt changes altering local landscape and lifestyle. Cities filled with desires to modernize undertook actions that strained the local culture, perception, and ways of life. Urbanization ultimately mutated the local veins and people. Changes left irrevocable marks in the built environment; 2021 Taiwan-Taipei talk will showcase either a case study or a theme within the project development and design pertinent to the theme of interface of practice and context.
