Event Description

Colour can transform not only surfaces, but can also be a tool to tune our experience of space. It is rarely static - it shifts in its appearance, dependent on light conditions and material surface. It can be ambiguous, fugitive and ephemeral, and is entirely contingent on the context in which it is seen, including the social, cultural, and physiological attributes of the viewer. Colour has been somewhat neglected in contemporary architectural education and many architects will admit to a nervousness when working with colour. This talk explores the potential of colour to modify space and the way in which buildings are perceived. To gain knowledge of exemplar projects, including collaborations between artists and architects.

Breakfast will be available from 8:00-9:30.
