From the Ground Up: Stories and Lessons to Build Your Career

Do you question if you want to take on the tough work of being a leader at the same time as being a doer: the heavier workload, managing the performance of other people, the longer hours and stress. Is this your path?  Or is there another way where you can be a firm leader without leaving yourself behind?

Author and leadership expert, Leo MacLeod, shares stories and lessons from his new book, From the Ground Up: Stories and Lessons from Architects and Engineers Who Learned to Be Leaders. In this highly interactive session, we’ll:

•     Help you craft a vision for your future that includes your professional and personal goals.

•     Explore the barriers to creating a meaningful career that works for you and your firm.

•     Provide a framework for balancing competing priorities.

•     Debunk the myth that leadership means doing it all by yourself without support.

•     Identify the important people you need in your career and life for support.

This collaborative, high energy session which will include storytelling, personal reflection, journaling, small group discussion, summary of key points, and Q & A.

Attached you will find a worksheet you can review and complete before the session.  A link to Leo’s book is linked as well if you wish to use it as a guide:
