Yasushi Nishimura is a First-Class Architect of Japan, with 25 years of experience in architectural design and project management. He studied architecture and earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering from The University of Tokyo. From 2000 to 2002, he was a scholar at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria, focusing on the study of European Theaters and Concert Halls. 

Yasushi began his architectural career at Maki and Associates (1998 -1999, 2004-2011), before establishing his own firm. His work spans a broad range of projects, both domestically and internationally, from small local projects to large-scale developments, furniture design to high-rise towers, and historical architecture restoration to cutting-edge tech industry. 

Since childhood, Yasushi has been inspired by visiting many places and appreciating cultural heritage and activities, which led him to pursue a career in architecture. To date, he has visited over 40 countries. His passion extend into the skies as well - he is a licensed airplane pilot. 

Since 2020, Yasushi has served as an International Committee member of JFABEA, the national architect licensure institute of Japan, in which licensed architects of Japan belong to. The Committee’s mission is to foster international dialogue and collaboration between architectural institutes in Japan, Korea, and China.

In parallel, Yasushi has been invited as a design architect for several projects in Taiwan. Since 2024, he has served as the Japan representative for CJA, a leading Korean architecture firm.  

His involvement in AIA International Region reflects his commitment to fostering global exchange among architects. Yasushi hopes to contribute to the creation of a better human society through architecture, from Japan to the world through the near Asian nations.
