Description

The development and progress of each place has left marks on the landscape. They are called landmarks. They are treasures of the place. We are proud to have inherited them. But this inherited landscape cannot be frozen as history. It should be alive. We, as architects, or more precisely as place makers, reinvent it to bring new life to a contemporary settlement.

Dr. Viet Anh has 20 years’ experience in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and planning in Vietnam. He is the co-founder and design principal of TA Landscape Architecture, one of the field leading firms in Vietnam. Practices of TA Landscape Architecture spread over architectural disciplines from small scale pop-up architecture to vast scale planning, from conceptual design to construction document. Through his practice, he has won international and domestic awards in architecture and landscape architecture.

Furthermore, he is engaging in many training courses and research as a lecturer at University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City (UAH). He has spent all his higher education with this university, from Bachelor of Architecture to Master of Urban Planning and then Doctor of Architecture in Urban and Regional Planning. Viet Anh is giving lectures in Landscape Architecture Introduction, Landscape Design Techniques, and other design studios in Landscape Architecture, both for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. His research focuses on urban morphology, transit-oriented development, landscape identity, and public space. The core of his practice and research is place-making, which has been reflected in most of his designs and publishment.

He is now also the Chief of Institute of International Education of UAH to get involved in many international corporation activities in terms of both academics and professionals.

Beside working as practitioner and lecturer, Viet Anh is engaged in Vietnamese Association of Architects as executive committee member and Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects as standing executive committee member.

Ms. Thuy Duong received a master's degree in Design Management from SCAD and Visual Design from SPD Milano, Italy in 2014. She has been a lecturer in Graphic Design at University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City from 2009 to present. She also has an associate lecturer at RMIT University Vietnam from 2019.  Currently, she is responsible for managing editor of ELLE Decoration Vietnam magazine.
