Rita Soh graduated with honors from the National University of Singapore in 1987 and obtained her professional license in 1989.

In 2011, she obtained her Master of Science (Sustainable Building Design) from University of Nottingham (UK). This is to reinforce her strong belief to have all buildings designed sustainably, with good environmental comforts for its users and to use our natural resources responsibly.

Rita has been involved in the design and project management of healthcare, hospitality, residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and infra-structure projects, both locally and overseas.

Her current works include the Department of Emergency Medicine Building@SGH, 3 new MRT stations@LTA’s Circle Line, Kallang Polyclinc/Long-term care facility, 2 restoration works to Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary & the Blessed Sacrament Church.

Her recent completed works are the Remodeling works to existing Main Building@NUH, The new Integrated Building and Medical Centre @ CGH, the prestigious high-rise condominium AALTO, and the Conservation of 150years-old Monument, Sts Peter & Paul Church@Queen’s Street.

She is a Board member at Sentosa Development Corporation and a member on the BCA Productivity Gateway Advisory Panel.

She is also a member of the Mandai Safari Park Holdings’ Development Committee and a member in NUS, School of Design & Environment Advisory Committee.

Regionally, she is President, Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) (2019-21) and had served over the years as Convenor, Fellowship (2017-18); Chairman, Committee for Social Responsibility (2015-16); Deputy Chairman, Zone B (2008-10) as well as Founding Chairman for Professional Practice Committee (2004-08).

Rita was President, Board of Architects Singapore (2010-2015) and a Nominated Member of Parliament (12th Session) (2014-2015).

She was also President of the Singapore Institute of Architects (2004-2007) and was instrumental in establishing a Blueprint for the architectural profession in its pursuit of Architectural Excellence as well as a Pro-Enterprise approach in architecture.

To champion Asian Architecture, Rita with Getz, launched the bi-annual SIA-Getz Architecture Prize for Emergent Architecture in Asia in 2005.She was the Chairman for 2012 Singapore President’s Design Award Jury panel and member in the Inaugural President's Design of the Year and Designer of the Year (2006) and then in 2007 & 2010.
