Event Description

AIA International’s Spring Conference is back, bringing fresh energy to our global audience with a program that tackles today’s turbulent world and asks the big question: Where are we headed next?

This year’s theme explores how architects can position themselves to embrace change. What trends will shape the future of architecture and the built environment? Which emerging technologies and new ways of working will rise to prominence? Join us as we debate and envision how we can design the future together.

Over three days, this virtual conference will feature inspiring lectures, dynamic panel discussions, exclusive building tours, and more, delivered from around the world and guided by the AIA’s Framework for Design Excellence. Sessions will be hosted by the seven AIA International Chapters in Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, the Middle East, Shanghai, and the United Kingdom, as well as many of our Country Representatives worldwide.

This year’s event is presented in conjunction with the UIA 2022 International Forum Madrid, a global gathering of architects, urban planners, designers, and policymakers exploring the theme “Affordable Housing Activation: Removing Barriers”. The forum brings together experts from over 100 countries to share innovative solutions for one of the most pressing challenges of our time: ensuring equitable access to quality housing. By aligning with UIA 2022, our conference expands its reach and impact, connecting participants to an even broader network of ideas, practices, and collaborations.

We are also partnering with the ULI Japan Conference to further enrich the dialogue between architecture, urban development, and real estate innovation.

Attendance is free and open to everyone, AIA member or not. All sessions will be available on demand after the conference. AIA members can earn CES credits for participating live or by viewing on demand.
