The International Region Design Awards Program continued in 2018 with the most architectural submissions since the 2014 inauguration. Submissions were received from members in all three zones of the International Region with representation from International Chapters and unassigned members throughout the Region.

The AIA IR Design Awards Program maintained highest adjudication standards with a sustainable, on-line submission process; outstanding, in-person adjudication; and internationally acclaimed jurors.  Following the success of last year’s Award Banquet in Prague, the AIA IR 2018 Awards Presentations were integrated with the AIA International Region Singapore Conference Gala Dinner evening. AIA IR architects were given time to share their recognized projects and were presented with framed, elegant, sustainably-created certificates at the pre-function cocktail event on the 70th floor of The SKAI bar at the Swiss Hotel, Stamford, Singapore. During the dinner, The AIA IR announced the new, Sustainable Future Award (SFA) developed in concert with AIA IR Founding Sponsor, Dow.  The award offers our members a unique opportunity to contribute to the carbon capture for the International Olympic Committee (IOC).  This SFA award will continue in the 2019 Awards program, and members are encouraged to learn more and share how we can maximize our commitment to sustainability and planetary stewardship.  Please click here for full details.

The collectable AIA IR 2018 awards booklets were also distributed following the Gala event and we would like to take a moment to thank DuttonBRAY for their 5 years of design and sustainable production support.

The winners are listed below and for a full list with images please see below.

Additional recognition and full Design Exhibition(s) are scheduled for the Architecture Conference (A’19) in Las Vegas and at several of the international chapters.  Do join us where you can, and please get ready to submit for AIA IR 2019 Design Awards this summer (for further details see the link on the IR website).

Congratulations to our AIA IR 2018 Design Award recipients:
