Thinking About Fellowship? Let’s Talk
As your AIA International Representatives to the College of Fellows, we want to take a moment to connect directly with those of you who are considering applying for Fellowship—or who may have been encouraged to, but haven’t yet taken the next step.
Whether Fellowship has been on your radar for years or you're just starting to explore what it means, know this: you don’t have to go through the process alone. One of the key roles we serve as COF Reps is to support members who are interested in pursuing Fellowship—to help demystify the process, offer candid feedback, and walk alongside you as you prepare your submission.
Fellowship isn’t about accolades for their own sake. It’s about recognizing the impact of your work—on the profession, on your community, and on the broader built environment. For many, the most difficult part is simply articulating that impact in a structured way that aligns with the AIA’s rigorous criteria.
That’s where we come in.
If you’re at the stage of "thinking about it", we’d love to have a conversation with you. And if you're actively preparing, now is the time to reach out. We can help clarify the different Object categories, discuss strategies for your narrative, and connect you with past Fellows who’ve gone through the journey from our own International Chapter.
Fellowship is both a milestone and a platform—from which you can continue giving back to the profession. We encourage you to consider it seriously, and to reach out early.
