ROCA - Presentation of modular bathroom construction at the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026

The company unveiled the prefabricated bathroom systems during the Roca Design Day, held this year as part of the Congress, where Roca is participating as Main Partner.

Roca, a global leader in bathroom solutions, is reinforcing its role as a partner for architects, developers and contractors at the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona. Taking place from 28 June to 2 July as part of Barcelona's designation as World Capital of Architecture 2026, the Congress is the world's leading international event for architecture, urban planning and design.

Under the theme "Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition", the 2026 edition explored the ecological, social and technological transformations reshaping the built environment. As Main Partner, Roca contributed to the Congress through several initiatives, including dedicated exhibition spaces at key venues such as the CCIB and Les Tres Xemeneies (Three Chimneys), where visitors was able to discover the company's latest solutions for architectural projects.

On 29 and 30 June, Roca also hosted the Roca Design Day at Roca Barcelona Gallery, bringing together media and industry professionals. The programme featured a conference by Marianthi Tatari and Ren Yee, from UNStudio, exploring how modular construction is enabling a more efficient, sustainable and flexible ways of designing and delivering buildings. The session reflected on how architecture, product design and new construction approaches are transforming the bathroom into a regenerative environment that supports health, wellbeing and resilience. The discussion also provided the context for presenting Roca's prefabricated bathroom systems.

This industrialised solution transforms the way bathrooms are designed, manufactured and installed across residential, hospitality and healthcare projects. Manufactured and quality-tested in a controlled factory environment, each module integrates the structure, technical systems, plumbing and electrical installations, bathroom products and finishes into a single ready-to-install unit. Production takes place in parallel with the construction of the building, optimising project planning, reducing on-site complexity and improving coordination between trades to shorten construction schedules and increase overall efficiency.

Modularity allows every solution to be tailored to the specific requirements of each project without compromising the benefits of industrialised construction. Roca's prefabricated bathroom systems can be customised in terms of dimensions, layouts, materials and finishes while ensuring consistent quality, compatibility between components and a more controlled, scalable and reliable construction process.

“Modular construction is accelerating the implementation of innovations across the built environment. Through the conversations with leading architects and designers, we examine how integrated bathroom spaces can enhance people's regeneration rituals and wellbeing”, says Marc Viardot, Corporate Marketing and Design Director of the Roca Group.
