Dear AIA International Members,
We would like to say a big THANK YOU for being a member in 2025, and encourage you to renew for 2026. Your involvement and participation makes all the work we do possible.
With your support, we look forward to bringing you more exciting events around the world next year, including our virtual Spring Conference in March and the AIA International Conference in Abu Dhabi in November. We will continue to grow our prestigious Design Awards program, and further develop our expansive library of online events. Our Global Mentorship Program will return for a new cycle, connecting more emerging architects to mentors around the world.
We have a growing group of international Sections, which serve to better connect our members to the AIA in regions without a local chapter. In 2025, we launched AIA Oceania, which joined our existing sections in South Korea, Southeast Asia, Taipei, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. All the Section teams are working to enrich the member experience in their area; please reach out to them if you wish to learn more or get involved. Their efforts are supported by a wider, overlapping group of AIA International Country Representatives, now in 30 countries.
We would also like to remind our International Associate members - since 2025, AIA has applied dues discounts based on the World Bank Group income classification. This means that if you are an International Associate based outside the high-income countries, you will continue to receive discounts on your National and International dues in 2026. In addition, we are advocating for other membership categories to benefit from similar dues discounts in the future.
The discounts are as follows:
Adjustments to AIA National dues for Intl Assocs
High-income countries: 27% discount (on Architect dues)
Upper middle-income countries: 50% discount
Lower middle-income countries: 75% discount
Low-income countries: 90% discount.
Adjustments to state (AIA International) dues for Intl Assocs
High-income countries: No discount
Upper middle-income countries: 50% discount
Lower middle-income countries: 75% discount
Low-income countries: 90% discount.
With this, we believe that AIA International provides good value to our members at every career stage. However, if you are experiencing financial hardship, we encourage you to contact us or your local chapter and request dues relief, and we will try to find the best solution for you.
Once again, we hope you renew your membership for 2026, and take part in our global community!
With warm regards,
Yew Kee Cheong, FAIA, RIBA, MSIA
AIA International President
