There’s a quiet confidence in the way Andreu Carulla works. His latest collaboration with Roca, Tura, doesn’t try to impress—it invites you in. Inspired by the architects of Barcelona’s modernist legacy and shaped by the rhythms of Mediterranean light, Tura reimagines the bathroom as a place of architectural calm and subtle expression.
Conceived as a tribute to the cultural and built environment of Catalonia, Tura draws from the region’s architectural vocabulary—light-filtering shutters, tactile materials, and the balance of shadow and clarity found in the works of José Antonio Coderch or Josep Lluís Sert. But rather than replicating these references literally, Carulla translates them into texture and gesture. Tura becomes an echo—intended for daily rituals, not architectural textbooks.

“I’ve always wanted to work with Roca,” Carulla shares. “They make incredibly high-quality products. Plus, the use of ceramics and the geographical proximity were a perfect match. I later discovered that we speak the same language.”
Tura speaks several languages at once. Its name, drawn from arquitectura and cultura, is already a quiet manifesto. This is not about trends or spectacle—but about cultivating rituals through thoughtful design. Carulla, trained as an industrial designer with an eye for spatial harmony, infused the collection with architectural references from Barcelona’s Mediterranean heritage. Slatted shutters, pergolas, and soft, indirect light are translated into surfaces that cast delicate shadows and guide the gaze.

“Light is not decoration,” he explains. “It’s a living material. We don’t design objects; we design the way light behaves on them.”
The result is a complete bathroom collection that extends far beyond ceramics. Tura includes washbasins, freestanding and built-in bathtubs, WCs, bidets, storage furniture, and accessories. Each piece is marked by clarity of line and consistency of detail. Furniture is available in light terracotta, neutral grey, or matt white finishes. Recycled felt and cork are used for storage boxes, providing subtle tactility.
Beyond aesthetics, Tura is also technologically advanced. Washbasins feature a hidden drain system—both elegant and easy to clean. All ceramic surfaces are treated with Roca’s Supraglaze® finish, a high-gloss coating that resists limescale and enhances hygiene. Toilets are equipped with Roca’s Rimless Vortex® flush, a system that uses precise water flow to ensure complete bowl cleaning while significantly reducing water consumption. The bathtubs come with a removable wooden tray and a soft, ergonomic headrest made from recycled textiles—offering comfort without compromising sustainability.

The design intent was to create a collection that could adapt—modular in feel, but human in scale. “Design should never intimidate,” says Carulla. “It should feel like home before we even realise it.”
Whether installed in a Mediterranean villa, an urban apartment, or a hospitality project, Tura lends itself to quiet integration. Its matte finishes, clean lines, and layered materials create an atmosphere of calm. The entire collection is designed with universal usability in mind—responding to the needs of both private residences and contract spaces.
There is a softness to Tura that isn’t just tactile, but emotional. It belongs to a new generation of design—one that cares deeply, and loudly, about the quiet moments in our lives. In Carulla’s hands, the bathroom becomes more than a functional zone: it becomes a space of architectural intimacy, where light, material and memory come together.
