With the start of 2022, we have a new board comprised of the elected officers, the representatives of each chapter, three at-large directors focussed on the at-large members not represented by a local chapter, and adjunct directors that continue to contribute their experience to the board.
AIA Middle East is proud to coordinate and participate in the shortlisting of mosque designs for the 4th cycle (2020-2023) of Abdullatif Alfozan Award for Mosque Architecture.
The AIA Continental Europe Chapter held its own Virtual Conference: Building for Resilience over 3 days on November 18-20, 2021. This conference focused on three strands - space, education and technology - highlighted projects whose innovative practices in these areas exemplified resilience, and considered how architects can connect the dots between the three.
The final virtual lecture of the year was by Suguru Watanabe and Keiko Onohara of Kengo Kuma and Associates, presenting their recent work “The Kadokawa Culture Museum”. The presentation included a complete walk-through of the process of making the gigantic stone-clad museum, from its conceptual stages to completion.
