Currently, the UIA Professional Practice Commission consists of 35 members representing all five UIA global regions, working collaboratively to study current practice issues with an emphasis on those impacting the cross-border mobility of architects.

All UIA “working bodies”—the four Commissions and the ten Work Programs—are busy on their respective initiatives in the run-up to the Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) in Madrid on 16-17 May 2022, where each working body will report on its year-to-date progress.

The UIA’s COVID-delayed 2020 Rio World Congress—renamed “UIA 2021 Rio” and held over the course of the summer of 2021—managed to reach 88,000 participants in one form or another. Twenty keynote speakers, leading over 500 other speakers, delivered a robust presentation program with over 500 hours of content.
