AIA Latin America: CAU Conference, Construmat, and Roca Gallery

ROCA GALLERY - Barcelona, Spain 

Jorge Arditti -co-founder of Arditti + RDT Arquitectos, President of AIA Latin America, and AIA International Region Country Representative of Mexico- participated in the Roca Gallery event ‘Tourism, Architecture & Design in Hospitality Spaces’, joining a remarkable panel of experts: Carme Pinós – Founder, Estudio Carme Pinós (Spain); José Antonio Ares – Partner, Foster + Partners (UK); Stephany Haro – Design Manager, CALA Region, Marriott International (Peru); Isabel López Vilalta – Founder, Isabel López Vilalta + Asociados (Spain); Suzana Gomercic – Senior VP of European Resort Operations, Hilton Grand Vacations (Spain); and David Cámara – Director of UNEX (Spain). 

The hospitality and tourism sectors were discussed not only as economic drivers, but also as forces shaping identity, culture, and development. The panel explored how insights from Europe can inspire Latin America in building a model rooted in its essence while projecting toward the future. 

In an era where authenticity is more valued than ever, design, architecture, and planning were highlighted as key tools to balance progress with preservation. The conversation offered powerful reflections on how architecture can drive meaningful change in the hospitality industry.

 

Construmat 2025 -  AIA International, Barcelona, Spain 

Architect Jorge Arditti, co-founder of Arditti + RDT Arquitectos and AIA President Latin America, participated as moderator in the presentation of renowned architect Sir David Adjaye during the CONSTRUMAT 2025 conference series. Known for his refined architectural vision and commitment to innovation, Arditti brought a unique perspective to the dialogue with Adjaye, whose socially engaged and globally influential work has reshaped contemporary architecture. 

This highly anticipated conversation delved into the intersections of cultural identity, health transformation, and architectural responsibility. As moderator, Arditti guided a thought-provoking exchange that highlighted Adjaye’s landmark projects and the deeper narratives behind his work. Arditti’s own experience in creating spaces that resonate with meaning and emotion positioned him as an ideal facilitator for such a rich discussion. 

The event formed part of CONSTRUMAT’s ongoing mission to foster international dialogue and critical reflection among leading voices in architecture and design. Arditti’s role not only set the tone for the session but also added to the intellectual depth and collaborative spirit that define the conference.

CAU CONFERENCE - Brasilía 2025 

The CAU Architecture and Urbanism Conference 2025 took place in Brasília on September 4- 6, gathering a vibrant international community of professionals. The event featured distinguished speakers from AIA Latin America, including its President Jorge Arditti, FAIA, along with Sara Toleson, AIA International, and Gustavo Ribeiro, Treasurer Elect of AIA International

The conference welcomed more than 4,000 architects from Brazil and abroad, creating an extraordinary platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration. Over the course of three days, participants explored a wide range of themes aimed at strengthening architecture’s relationship with the environment, cultural context, and society as a whole. 

The program highlighted innovation, sustainability, and global exchange as key drivers for advancing the profession, while emphasizing the importance of collaboration between local and international voices in shaping the future of architecture and urbanism. 

Notably, AIA national leaders Evelyn Lee and Illya Azaroff also participated, alongside NCARB leadership. 

Jorge Ardittiand Sara Toleson delivered Keynote lectures on the main stage, proudly representing AIA International and AIA Latin America!
