The 2026 AIA Continental Europe Conference, Berlin the Phoenix: Upheavals and Rebirths, brought members and international guests together from 7–10 May for architectural tours, presentations and discussions exploring Berlin’s evolving urban landscape. Visits included the Museum Island complex, Hansaviertel’s post-war housing, Kreuzberg’s urban development and the Jewish Museum by Daniel Libeskind. Speakers from leading architectural practices and institutions shared perspectives on contemporary design, while optional excursions to Potsdam and Dessau explored historic architecture and the legacy of the Bauhaus movement. The conference was supported by corporate partners NorthGlass, panoramah! and Roca Group/LAUFEN Germany, alongside local hosts and tour organisers.

Spring 2027 Conference: Rotterdam and Delft

AIA Continental Europe’s next spring conference, ** Contrasting Spaces of Dutch Innovation, will take place from 22–25 April 2027** in Rotterdam and Delft.

The programme will explore the relationship between architecture, urbanism and research across two complementary settings: Rotterdam, where experimental design and urban planning respond to climate, density and mobility challenges, and Delft, an international centre for architectural and urban research at TU Delft. Through tours, site visits, lectures and discussions, Dutch and international architects, urbanists and researchers will examine how integrated design can contribute to resilient, liveable urban environments.

Full program coming soon.
